SPRINGFIELD –To ensure all Medicaid recipients life-threatening diseases are covered, State Senator Napoleon Harris, III supported a measure to permit all life-saving clinical trials to treat cancer and other serious diseases to be covered under Medicaid benefits.
“Medicaid provides comprehensive coverage and financial protection for many working families in Illinois,” Harris (D-Harvey) said. “Many of these workers have a low-income and deserve healthcare benefits that covers any illnesses that may appear.”

DOLTON — As many small businesses across the state worry about the financial hardships created by the COVID-10 pandemic, State Senator Napoleon Harris, III (D-Harvey) announced new funding for small business development centers to help businesses get through this difficult time.
“Small businesses across Illinois are dealing with a financial crisis from coronavirus restrictions,” Harris said. “Many of these owners have built their business from the ground up and have become the backbone of their community. Providing them with additional help will help them continue to stay afloat.”

“This budget preserves core democratic values for Illinois residents. With many tough decisions revolving around the budget this year, I wanted to ensure COVID-19 relief services were at the forefront and strived to provide financial relief to help people begin to return to normalcy.
“This is a responsible budget that represents our current reality. Our workers have been laid off from their jobs, resources have not been supplied to disadvantaged communities, and many businesses have not received the support they deserved.”

DOLTON – State Senator Napoleon Harris, III (D-Harvey) announced SNAP recipients can purchase food online from grocery stores who choose to participate in a new program.
“SNAP is essential to many low-income families, and allowing them to order groceries online will provide them more safety and security during this health emergency,” Harris said. “It’s only fair to grant SNAP recipients with the same resources as any other household that purchases groceries online.”
