HARVEY – State Senator Napoleon Harris III secured over $250,000 for 14 libraries across the 15th District for library services and programming.
“Libraries are more than places to go to find books to read – they provide essential resources to residents, serve as technology and education hubs and uplift the neighbors they serve,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “Providing grants to local libraries empowers our community to take advantage of all they have to offer.”

This transformative funding was made possible by the steadfast support of Senator Harris and the Illinois General Assembly.
“We want to make sure kids who grow up in our community have a place in our community to continue their education after high school,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “I am proud to support South Suburban College in its goal to provide students with a first-class learning environment, because a good education gives kids the best chance to succeed.”

“These dogs serve bravely alongside our officers and deserve dignity, respect and care after their service ends,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “This legislation makes sure we honor their loyalty with the same commitment they’ve shown to us.”
HARVEY – To emphasize the importance of learning throughout the summer, State Senator Napoleon Harris III is hosting a Summer Book Club to encourage students to read and continue their studies during the summer vacation.
“Reading during the summer helps students stay sharp and sets them up for success in the new school year,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “I’m excited to launch this year’s Summer Book Club as a fun way to keep young minds active and growing.”
The Summer Book Club requires students to read eight books of their choice during the summer break, record the names of the books on a form, and return the form to Harris’ Homewood office by Aug. 15. Every child who completes the Summer Book Club will receive a prize and a certificate from Senator Harris.
Summer Book Club forms are available to download at SenatorNapoleonHarris.com. People with questions can reach out to Harris’ office at (708) 893-0552.
