SPRINGFIELD – To further increase access to mental health treatment, State Senator Napoleon Harris III supported a law extending the existing prior authorization ban to cover medically necessary outpatient mental health services.

“This law will help break down barriers to mental health care that many people in our community face,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “Over the years, people are prioritizing mental health more and more, and our laws should reflect that seriousness.” 

SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Napoleon Harris III supported a measure to stop gyms and fitness centers from canceling or changing benefits of a promised lifetime membership.

“Gyms are offering lifetime memberships only to raise prices and cut benefits a year later,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “This law cracks down on gyms using deceptive marketing tactics to take advantage of people just trying to improve their lives through fitness.”

SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Napoleon Harris III supported a major pharmacy reform bill that protects patient access to pharmacies and lowers prescription drug prices.

“You shouldn’t have to choose between picking up a prescription your doctor recommends and buying food for your family,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “These major reforms will help curb pharmacy middlemen from jacking up prices.”
