HARVEY – State Senator Napoleon Harris III secured over $250,000 for 14 libraries across the 15th District for library services and programming.
“Libraries are more than places to go to find books to read – they provide essential resources to residents, serve as technology and education hubs and uplift the neighbors they serve,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “Providing grants to local libraries empowers our community to take advantage of all they have to offer.”
SOUTH HOLLAND – State Senator Napoleon Harris III joined South Suburban College to announce the upcoming renovation of its main atrium, thanks to a $500,000 capital grant awarded through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. This transformative funding was made possible by the steadfast support of Senator Harris and the Illinois General Assembly.
“We want to make sure kids who grow up in our community have a place in our community to continue their education after high school,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “I am proud to support South Suburban College in its goal to provide students with a first-class learning environment, because a good education gives kids the best chance to succeed.”
SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Napoleon Harris III passed a measure through the Senate that ensures long-term veterinary care for retired police dogs who have served the people of Illinois.
“These dogs serve bravely alongside our officers and deserve dignity, respect and care after their service ends,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “This legislation makes sure we honor their loyalty with the same commitment they’ve shown to us.”
HARVEY – State Senator Napoleon Harris III secured over $5 million for the Village of Midlothian and City of Oak Forest’s Natalie Creek Trail Project. The grant was awarded under the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program, administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
“The Natalie Creek Trail Project will give residents a safe activity to enjoy outdoors,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “I’m proud to help secure funding from the state for these projects and recognize that these projects could not happen without the diligent work of Midlothian and Oak Forest.”
